Former No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen already has his future lined up following Saturday’s co-main event bout with Rashad Evans at UFC 167.
Sonnen will compete on the next Brazilian season for The Ultimate Fighter against Wanderlei Silva, taking on “The Axe Murderer” early in 2014 after that.
However, his focus remains solely on “Suga” at the present time, and he’s already decided that typical plan A will not work vs. the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
“I think it’s a hard fight,” said Sonnen, on UFC Tonight recently. “I’m going to my plan B. My usual strategy isn’t going to work on this guy.
“I’ve been around a long time and I have some things in my bag of tricks. It’s going to be one more for the bad guy.”
Sonnen (29-13-1) is just 3-2 in his last five, but both losses came in title fights to Jon Jones and Anderson Silva.
